Literature Text

Glimmer of dull light
Anxiety infused chamber
Aching eyes open
Dismal instruments of horror
Life’s pulse created
Beautiful wretch
A lonely road doth walk
Asylum disturbed
Inarticulate emotions
Exceeded dreams doth created
Disgust and disappointment succeed
Hurried steps of fear
Escaped father to dismal night
Dreaded wretch
A lonely road doth walk
Behold, fellow creatures
Cruel pain felt
Horrid contrast
Deprived heart
Mingled disappointment
On bitter learning
Disturbed wretch
A lonely road doth walk
Horror conceived
Dismal temper
Amounted to agony
Comfortless sky
Remorse consumed
Dark wishes writhed
Fatal pursuit
Miserable wretch
A lonely road doth tread
Infinite path shroud in death
No refuge
No sympathy
A hell that even Dante
Could not have conceived.
This is a poem I did for English class upon reading MAry Shelly's Frankenstein. It's from the creature's point of view and the agony he goes through in his perpetual loneliness since first made.
